The Hotel Bathroom Prize
The Hotel Bathroom Prize 2012
Winner: Jean-Maire Massaud
The Hotel Bathroom Prize was launched at the same time as the show itself and offers recognition to a designer for his or her contribution to the universe of the hotel bathroom. This is an area that has always fostered bathroom innovation and it continues to be in the forefront of developments because the bathroom is one feature that guests really notice and that hotels can use to set themselves apart.
After awarding the prize in previous years to Andrée Putman, Terence Conran, India Mahdavi, Christophe Pillet and, most recently in 2010, Matali Crasset, it is now the turn of Jean-Marie Massaud to receive the Hotel Bathroom Prize.

"Reflection on our sensory and emotional relationship with water… and light.
The hotel bathroom is no longer some functional room tucked away in a corner but a dream-like transitional space between the light and views of the outside and the intimate cocoon of the bedroom itself. It is a means of giving spatial expression to desires that are both paradoxical yet compatible and fertile.”
